Jovita K. Goddard

Born on June 2, 1948, in Ansbach, Germany, Jovita was the beloved daughter of Anneliese and Juozas Kviklys. She was the eldest of her two brothers, Romas (Regi) and Al (Lynnie). At the age of eight, Jo and her family moved to Chicago, where she would eventually meet the love of her life, Michael Goddard, at a bowling alley in 1963 when she was just 15. If you knew Jo, you knew she was a great bowler it ’s no surprise that’s where their story began. Mike and Jo were the perfect example of love at first sight. They were married in August 1968 and welcomed their daughter, Pamela, in June 1969. A few years later, they built a home together one filled with laughter, memories, and unconditional love and celebrated the birth of their son, Michael, in February 1973. Mike and Jo shared a wonderful 57 years of marriage and were high school sweethearts for 3 years. Jo has lived a long life with love and laughter. She has two children Pamela (Jeff) Reeder and Michael (Sherri) Goddard; and five grandchildren, Rachel, Rebecca, Nicole, Kaylee (Kyle), and Brandon. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Jo was known for her vibrant personality and big heart. She was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan, always cheering them on no matter the season. She had a knack for slot machines, spent years in a bowling league, was an avid bingo player for the last 40 years, and took pride in her garden, where she found peace and joy. But more than anything, Jo adored her husband, children, and grandchildren they were truly her world, and nothing lit up her face more than their smiles. Rest in peace Jovita, you are greatly missed and will forever be in our hearts
