Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home was started by the Thompson family in Oak Lawn, IL in 1917 off historic 95th Street. Bob Kuenster was introduced in 1980 and runs the facility currently with his hard working and caring staff.
Meet The Owner
About Bob Kuenster
Bob is the owner and operator of Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home and is proud to carry on the tradition as one of the last family-owned funeral homes in the area. Deeply committed to his community, Bob has served in numerous leadership roles over the years. He has been an active trustee on the Mother McAuley High School Board of Directors, a member of the Oak Lawn School District 123 Board, and has contributed his time to the Crisis Center for Abused Women & Children, the Oak Lawn Parks Foundation, and the Board of Directors for Park Lawn School, where he was honored with their Ambassador Award.
Bob was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for Oak Lawn Bank and previously completed a term as President of the Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce. He also became a lifetime member of the Auxiliary in 1998.
In addition to his professional and civic work, Bob has coordinated five major fundraisers benefiting Hope Children’s Hospital, collectively raising more than $500,000 to support children and families in need.
