Sister Mary Gwendolyn RSM Durkin

Sister Mary Gwendolyn Durkin, RSM, (Mary Catherine Durkin), beloved member of the Sisters of Mercy for 67 years was the loving daughter of the late Agnes (nee Carroll) and the late Thomas J. Durkin. She was the devoted sister of the late John (Josephine) Durkin, the late Albert E. (Geraldine), the late Eileen, Gwendolyn, and Thomas Durkin. A cherished aunt to Mary Kay (Thomas) Doyle, Al (Kathy) Durkin, Julie (Vincent) McEnerney and Bryan (Mary) Durkin and a proud great aunt of Kelly (Kevin) Coakley, Thomas (Colleen) Doyle and Katie Doyle, Jessica and Alison Durkin, Brittany McEnerney and Catherine (Nick) Tortorello, Erin, Maura, Annie, Jimmy and Jack Durkin. A loving great grand aunt to Patrick and Caitlin Coakley, Nora and Thomas Doyle, and Addison Tortorello. She will remain in the hearts of her beloved family, cousins, kind friends, and colleagues of Mercy Hospital. Visitation Tuesday, August, 2, 2016, from 3 pm until 7 pm at Mercy Circle, 3659 W. 99th St. in Chicago. Wake service 4:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday at 10:30 am at Mercy Chapel, 3659 W. 99th St. in Chicago. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Sister Durkin was Administrator at Mercy Hospital for many years.
